Sébastien Miraglia is a research fellow at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies (IFS). He has joined IFS’s department of Civil-Military relations in 2009, where he is writing about nuclear policy, strategy and the development of military technology. His current area of research includes nuclear security in South Asia and the impact of civil-military relations on Pakistan’s nuclear posture. Previously, Mr Miraglia has studied the development of ballistic missile technology within the US Navy, and the tactical operation of shipborne air defence systems. In addition, he has served has a technological advisor for independent studies analysing the Rafale jet-fighter bid for the Indian MRCA competition. Mr. Miraglia received his master’s degree from the University of Oslo (Norway), and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Lyon (France).
