Adrien Frossard is an independent researcher focusing on international relations and defense-related issues. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at IDSA and presently working on India and China’s military.
Mr. Frossard completed his Master’s degree at the University of Lyon followed by an internship at the Joint Forces Centre for Concepts, Doctrines, and Experimentations (CICDE) at the Military School, Paris. During his time at CICDE, Mr Frossard published a study on BRIC countries and carried out many interviews amongst the French strategic thinking community, including think tanks, military institutions and journalists.
Mr. Frossard is also member of the French Military as a reservist soldier in the Mountain Troops, and also previously worked as a journalist.

Effect of the Financial Crisis on European Defence: The Case of France

The ongoing global financial crisis has had an increasing strain on the defence budgets of different European countries. In the case of France, an intelligent and anticipatory/ preventive planning has mitigated the effects of the crisis but challenges remain, which have to be taken seriously and addressed effectively, if France wants to maintain its strategic autonomy.
