About the Speaker
Dr. Anuradha M. Chenoy is a Professor at the School of International Studies in Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is the Directress and former Chairperson of Area Studies- Center for Russian and Central Asian Studies (CRCAS). Her research interests are security issues and gender apart from being an activist on gender and social issues. She is a regular media commentator and has been an adviser to UNESCO on women in conflict. She has been on the governing bodies of several institutions like the Indian Social Institute, Centre for Educations and Communications, New Delhi and currentlyis the Hon. Vice President, Control Arms Foundation of India (CAFI).
She has written and published widely on international relations, and authored books: The Making of a New Russia (2001); Militarism and Women in South Asia (2002); Human Security: Concepts and Principles (co-authored with Shahrbanou Tadjbakhsh) (2007); and Maoist and Other Armed Conflicts (co-authored with Kamal Mitra Chenoy) (2010).
