Research Fellow, Manohar Parrikar IDSA, Dr. Jagannath Panda’s chapter titled “India’s Approach to the ‘Quad’ and the Salience of China” has been published in Ash Rossiter and Brendon J. Cannon (eds.), Conflict and Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific: New Geopolitical Realities (Routledge, 2020).
The chapter essentially argues that New Delhi’s perspectives towards the Quad consultative forum is not an explicit move against China but rather is a calculated strategic move to protect its own interests, including maritime interests and ambitions, in view of a “revisionist” China in the Indo-Pacific.
