China’s territorial claim on Arunachal Pradesh and the unresolved border dispute in the eastern sector are major irritants in India-China relations. Arunachal is feel India can do more to assert its sovereignty in the area. Three plausible explanations for the increase in China’s aggressive postures in India’s eastern sector and a few policy recommendations are offered for consideration.
